Alanis Morisette to perform huge Yorkshire concert

Alanis Morissette will make a triumphant return to the Yorkshire coast this summer, bringing her unmistakable voice and era-defining catalogue to Scarborough Open Air Theatre for a major live performance this July.

For more than three decades, Alanis Morissette has stood as one of the most influential and distinctive artists in contemporary music. Renowned for her emotionally fearless songwriting, raw vocal delivery, and electrifying stage presence, she reshaped the sound of the 1990s and inspired generations of musicians. Her GRAMMY Award-winning 1995 breakthrough album Jagged Little Pill became a cultural phenomenon, selling over 30 million copies worldwide and cementing her status as a global icon. The album’s unforgettable singles — including Ironic, You Oughta Know, Hand in My Pocket, and Thank U — remain enduring anthems that continue to resonate with audiences across generations.

Morissette’s creative evolution has spanned nine further studio albums, each exploring new sonic landscapes while maintaining the lyrical honesty and vulnerability that define her artistry. Beyond her recording success, her music’s emotional depth and universal themes of identity, heartbreak, resilience, and self-discovery have made her one of the most critically respected performers of her era.

In 2019, her legacy reached new heights with the Broadway debut of Jagged Little Pill: The Musical. Inspired by her seminal album, the production earned widespread acclaim and was nominated for 15 Tony Awards, winning two at the 2021 ceremony — a testament to the lasting power and relevance of her work.

Morissette’s impact on the live stage has been equally remarkable. Her sold-out 2021 world tour was officially recognised as the number-one female-fronted tour of the year, while her 2024 North American Triple Moon Tour drew more than half a million fans, filling arenas to capacity. This momentum continued with a completely sold-out 2025 UK Tour, culminating in a sensational, career-defining debut on Glastonbury’s legendary Pyramid Stage.

Now, fans in Yorkshire will have the chance to witness this extraordinary artist live against the stunning backdrop of the Scarborough coastline.

Tickets go on sale Friday 27 February, with an exclusive pre-sale available at:
